Which calculations does the almanac do for you?

Two calculators run in your browser on the same data as the boards: a historical currency converter using ECB reference rates from 4 Jan 2016 to 16 Oct 2026, and a percentage-change calculator that also gives log returns and compound annual rates.

• Historical currency converter

  Amount, two of 25 currencies, and a date. Uses the ECB fixing of that day or the previous fixing, and compares with the latest rate.

• Percent change calculator

  Old and new value, optional years. Gives percentage change, difference, log return, compound annual rate and the move needed to get back.

Neither tool stores what you type. They do not give dealing rates or forecasts; for how the inputs are sourced see the methodology.
